What is bCA Galleries?

bCA Galleries is a contemporary art company and gallery. Since its inception in 2005, it is promoting talented young Indian artists globally and also introducing the works of foreign artists in India. It is ideally located in Mumbai, the heart of Indian contemporary art, and has a vast network of contacts in the contemporary art world in India. Also it offers its experience and local support in organizing international exhibitions both in India and overseas, managing, among others the promotion to the press, matters related to the import/export of artworks to and from India and any logistic related activity in India. bCA Galleries is a private limited company registered in Mumbai, India. The central office is based in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. It has a subsidiary office in Frankfurt, Germany.

What kind of art does bCA Galleries promote?

bCA Galleries primarily promotes emerging Indian artists, there are over 300 Indian artists associated with the gallery. It also introduces the works of international artists to the Indian market. Purchasing Art from bCA Galleries:

How to search for artworks?
bCA Galleries has Search Artworks function to facilitate your search of our site for artworks as per your preferences of style, medium, price, size, topic, colour etc. Please use the following link:

http://www.bcagalleries.com/searchartworks.asp

Why is the price not mentioned online?

Our main business has been (and still is) providing artworks to others galleries or art dealers, who add their margins before taking our artworks to the market. Our prices are, in a sense "wholesale" prices. Consequently our margins are very moderate as this enables our customers (galleries and art dealers) to sell the artworks that they get from us to their end-customers at market prices. Wherever we don’t have a local partner we accept inquiries from direct clients and since we are offering prices even to them at “wholesale” rather than market rate, these prices are not published to safeguard the interests of our partners and the artist.

How to find the price of an artwork?

If you are interested in knowing the price of an artwork you are interested in, please send us an inquiry by filling out the template online. We will process your inquiry and get back to you. We assure you that our prices will be the most competitive in the Indian art market.

How can a client be sure the work is original?

Every artwork of an associated artist purchased from bCA Galleries comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and Originality, which is signed by the artist and endorsed by bCA Galleries. To know more about the certificate of authenticity please visit the following link on our website:
http://www.bcagalleries.com/CoAA.asp

How is the work shipped?

Canvas and paper works are rolled, professionally sealed in a plastic tube and shipped. Sculptures or paintings that are executed on board or those that are stretched and/or framed will be crated before shipping.

What if a work is required to be framed?

bCA Galleries can have the work stretched and/or framed for you. We can provide you with images of sample frames that would suit the painting and you can select the one you like.
Please note, we cannot courier any glass items, only acrylic sheet will be used in the framing, else works will be framed without any glass.

How is the shipping cost calculated?

Shipping costs are passed to clients at actual. Courier companies calculated the shipping costs based on the so called volume weight (L x W x H ÷ 166 (cu in.) or 6,000 (cu cm) = volume weight) of the package. Hence for works that need to be crated eg. those that are stretched or framed, the shipping cost will be higher. A client can estimate shipping at 5% (courier within India) and 10% (international courier) of the quoted price for a unframed rolled canvas or paper painting. For further shipping and delivery details please see the link below:
http://www.bcagalleries.com/shipping.asp

Where does bCA Galleries deliver?

bCA Galleries delivers worldwide. We use the very reliable services of FEDEX.
Please note: courier costs vary as per the destination.

How to make a payment?

• Payments in India can be made per DD, bank transfer or cheque.
• Payments from overseas can be made per bank transfer or international cheque in any currency.
• Payments over the Internet can be made per credit card (Amex, Visa, Mastercard, Discovery) or through PayPal. Our online payment partner is PayPal.
For further details please see our “How to Buy” section at the following link :

http://www.bcagalleries.com/howtobuy.asp

Are there any hidden costs?

We are very clear in our pricing with our customers. The prices quoted are inclusive of taxes; the shipping quotes are given to the clients prior to shipping, works are shipped once the client gives his approval. There are no additional charges of any sort.

Can a gift certificate be issued?

Under what circumstances can an artwork be returned?

If a client is dissatisfied with an artwork that has been delivered, the same may be returned to bCA Galleries within 7 days, provided the client ensures that the artwork has been returned in the exact same condition in which it was delivered (the artwork will be photographed prior to shipping). If an artwork is returned damaged or different in any way from the artwork that was shipped, bCA Galleries will not be in a position to accept it.

Will a cash refund be given when an artwork is returned?

bCA Galleries will offer no cash refunds on artworks returned. Instead, the amount paid by the client for the painting will be held with bCA Galleries and the client is free to choose another artwork. The client would need to choose another artwork within 6 months of the artwork being returned; else the amount will be forfeit.

Are there any discounts on offer?

bCA Galleries does introduce special schemes for its clients for a limited period of time. Currently, the gallery offers free shipping for all first time customers who request the Free Shipping Voucher. The same can be availed of at the following link:
http://www.bcagalleries.com/landing.asp

Besides art, what does bCA Galleries offer its clients?

bCA Galleries has a number of products and services on offer to its clients which are art related. Clients can view the complete repertoire at the following link :
http://www.bcagalleries.com/business.asp

If a client recommends bCA Galleries to his friends or family can s/he expect some benefits from the gallery?

bCA Galleries constantly seeks to build working relationships in different parts of the globe. We encourage clients to give us referrals and act as de-facto art dealers for us to whom the gallery can assign a particular territory.
An art dealer looking after a particular territory would be in charge of all requests and businesses that she would be able to generate in the agreed territory. Typically there are 3 main lines of business:
1. resales of artworks to local buyers and collectors
2. consultancy / referral / introduction of local buyers and collectors to bCA
3. consultancy / referral / introduction of local art galleries interested in promoting Indian contemporary or traditional art to bCA
In the first case the art dealer is free to resell the artwork(s) at an arbitrary price. As we do not publicly disclose our prices this is possible. Also internet inquiries from a specific territory (as an example let us assume San Francisco) would be redirected to the art dealer in the area (who could be you) -- if we have one.
In the second and third case we would recognize a commission to the art dealer for all successful sales.
Our large selection of artists and our low prices are doubtlessly unmatched in the market and enable a successful cooperation for all involved parties.
